CORKIES!

So I was at the store formerly known as GI Joe's (sporting goods store) today and noticed these wonderful colourful beadlike things in the fishing section. I immediately knew I wanted to make jewelry out of whatever they were, but they weren't marked or labeled at all, so I had no idea how much they were supposed to cost. I figured I'd find out at the checkout, so I grabbed a bunch (at least 100) and went to the checkout where I was informed that they were called "corkies" and that they were 15c each. So I had to sort through the bag and pick out 60, since I only had $9 on me at the time. When I got home I researched them a bit, and they are a type of fishing lure that attaches to the hook and makes it float, apparently attracting fish.

I made a bracelet out of these corky things, and it is awesome, I'm still not sure whether I'll sell it or keep it for myself, but don't worry, I'll have other corky items available shortly.

Hopefully I'll be able to share my corkies with the world, they make very colourful jewelry, but they're a bit more expensive than typical beads. I was unaware that the large corkies cost the same as the small ones, so I grabbed a bunch of small ones. I will probably go back at some point and get other sizes once I have some more cash. The small ones are good for bracelets, the larger ones could easily be used on necklaces, which I plan on making shortly.

Also, I'll be leaving a day early for my trip to Seattle, I'll be home around Wednesday or Thursday, the first two days of August.
